Burn Baby Burn Lyrics

FADE AWAY

I wake with the morning sun and start the day
I reach out to touch you and you've gone away
Was it a dream or some kind of cruel ghost?
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most.

I watch it fade away, I watch it fade away
I watch it fade away, I watch it fade away

I close my eyes and see you standing there
You light up the darkness I see everywhere
You don't know what you do to me
Take my eyes now so that you can see

I watch it fade away, I watch it fade away
I watch it fade away, I watch it fade away

If I told someone they would not believe
Look through my eyes so that you can see.

KICK IT

Way back a long time ago when grass was green
You put your heart into most everything
So tell me baby, do you know how it feels?
Just take another look on this side of the hill.

Let's Kick It, let's kick it back
Let's Kick It, let's kick it back

You always ran away from everything good
Another starlet gone to Hollywood
So tell me baby, Are you living the dream?
In the land of the blind a one-eyed man can be king.

PRIDE

It's made up of lonely moments
There was always a moment there when I knew
You always give installments
Knew you always concentrated and grew
And I believe in reinvention
Do you know that life is holding the clue?
Take away all the lonely moments
Give me full communication with you.

Your smile, shine a little light, all right?
Don't hide, shine a little light, give up on your pride.

Do you believe in reinvention?
Do you believe that life is holding the clue?
Any way to face the silence?
Any way to face the pain that kills you?

Your smile, shine a little light, all right?
Don't hide, shine a little light, give up on your pride.

Give up on your pride, the moment is gone
Give up on your smile, life is long
So I seen a bad dream, that you were gone
I got bitten on the soul, my blood will run

Give up on your pride, the moment is gone
Give up on your smile, life is long
So I seen I bad dream, you were gone
You're bitter and cold, my blood will run

Your smile, shine a little light, all right?
Don't hide, shine a little light, give up on your pride.

SHAKE IT

I woke up this morning in the land of the sun
Headed out to the beach to catch me some
And watched all the babes go walking by
Crusin' in my car down Ocean Drive
For a wink and smile baby you can drive
And have yourself a memory of the Grand Strand.

Baby don't you know, I like the way you shake it yeah
Baby don't you know, I like-a da way that you shake it

Rockin' Mother Fletcher's with the boys in the band
Maybe me and you could go get lost in the sand
Or we could stay here and dance the night away
You're lookin' like a picture in a magazine
And you're so hot I can see the steam
And by the way, what's your name again?

Maybe you could be my partner in crime
I guarantee that you'll have a good time
At least with me anyway!
'Cause watchin' you walk is art in motion
You won't be needin' no suntan lotion
You'll get your tan from laying in my shade.

DEVIL'S BREW

The sun goes down in a desert town
Lucy and her friends, look at what they found
Over in the corner, underneath the bar
They found something sweet in the cookie jar.

There stands Tommy with the potion in his hand
Says it makes him feel more like a man
Lucy took a drink and said "This is cool"
"You know, it makes you feel good and forget that you're you."

It's true, you know it's true
They're drinking Devil's Brew.

Lucy left her friends standing at the bar
She and Tommy blasted off in her car
They were seen headed west out on Highway 9
Drinking down the potion and some cheap red wine.

It's true, you know it's true
They're drinking Devil's Brew.

Lucy never saw the truck up ahead
Tommy just laughed 'cause he knew she was dead
The state trooper says it happens all the time
They find an unknown substance
And some cheap red wine.

Well there stands Tommy with his hand on the bar
Jenny wants to know what's in the cookie jar
They were seen headed west out on Highway 9
Drinking down the potion and some cheap red wine.

It's true, you know it's true
Between me and you, I tell ya it's true
Yes, it's true, yeah it's true
They're drinking Devil's Brew.

Drink it down, pass it around.

FALL OFF THE WAGON

I don't mind while they're talking
You can't hear what they say
We've got more than they'll ever know anyway
One more chance should be plenty
The way I feel can't be wrong
Feel my head for the fever
Soon be gone.

I fall off the wagon everyday
No one lives forever anyway

Love as sweet as honey
Love as tough as nails
Easy boy, there's no easy way through the pain

What I mean is suicide is clean
And you can't tell me why, no you can't tell me why
I won't know till I die if it's for me.

I fall off the wagon everyday
No one lives forever anyway.

LOVE SONG

I never caught on to the signals you sent
But then again, I never do
We certainly have quite a chemistry
That only exists between me and you.

Do you know how much I love you?
Do you know how much I care?
All I want to do is hold you
And run my fingers through your hair.

You're the missing part that makes me complete
You wake the child inside of me
I never seem to get enough
Of hearing you say that you love me.

Do you know how much I love you?
Do you know how much I care?
All I want to do is hold you in my arms
Run my fingers through your hair.

When you have those days when it falls apart
I'll be there to comfort you
I'll wipe the tears and pain that flow from your eyes
Cause I love you

Now you know how much I love you
Now you know how much I care.

BURN BABY BURN

When you threw me away and you cast me aside
You lost the best thing to happen to you
Sooner or later you'll realize that what I say is true
Everything you said to me I now know was a lie
Your loss will be my pain it will eat you up inside
Strike the match.

I'm a Raider'd up freak who owns the night, falling out of the air
Hit and run, I'll have my fun, You'll never know I was there
If you always do what you've done, you'll always get what you've got.

Burn Baby Burn, Burn Baby Burn

Well boys I'll catch you later, you know she makes me feel good
Like a warming in my heart, like a warming in my heart
Well boys she's a screamer, you know she really makes me feel good
Like a warming in my heart, like a flame to a spark, like a beat to the heart.

Whether you want to believe it or not it'll all come back on you
The broken hearted and the hurt you gave, baby it'll burn you.
Bite me.

Burn Baby Burn, Burn Baby Burn

WISH IT WAS OVER

I wish it was over I wish we were through
I wish when my phone rang it wasn't always you
I don't even like you or can't you tell
Whenever I'm sober I treat you like hell.

I wish it was over, I wish it was over, I wish it was over

I tried so hard to play your games
No matter what happens you say I'm to blame
I don't think you're special, you're certainly not smart
This being together is tearning me apart.

I wish it was over, I wish it was over, I wish it was over

If I could be stronger and not so weak
Instead of just thinking maybe I could speak
I don't think you're special, you're certainly not smart
This being together is tearning me apart.

I wish it was over, I wish it was over, I wish it was over.

SING THE CHANGES

Like the sun plays in the morning
Feel the quiet, feel the thunder
Every ladder leads to heaven
Colored pencils, draw the picture
Sing the changes as you're sleeping
Feel it moving all around you
Sing the changes, calling over
Feel the quiet, feel the thunder.

Like the sun plays in the morning
Feel the quiet, feel the thunder
Every ladder leads to heaven
Colored pencils, draw the picture
Sing your praises as you're breathing
Feel the sense of childlike wonder.

Sing the changes, calling over
All around us fell it moving
Turn the pages, looking forward
Sing the praises of a better day
Sing the changes, calling over
All around us fell it moving
On the inside, on the outside
Sing the changes of a better day.
